stitching for boys

I've been making alot of dresses and pretty things for Pia, so it was definately time to redress the balance and make something for Luca. But sewing for boys is not so simple, I wasn't exactly inundated with options while fabric shopping. I decided to make a cot quilt and chose this grey Japanese elephant print. If anyone has any sewing ideas for boys, I'd love to hear.
I found this funny photo on my mum's camera today. Now I know what they all get up to while I'm at work - dancing in Nana's lounge room. I know from the look on Luca's face that she is playing the Seekers. I better not tell Ed, he will freak out. I'll just tell him they were dancing to Husker Du or Radio Birdman - that will please him.

I have this quandry too. I see all the cute things being made for girls and wish there was something I could make for my boys.
Your quilt is very cute, but I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions.

Quilt looks great- fabruic from Amitie? I got the elephants in pink for Lo...

Boy sewing is HARD. Pants? Casual pants are the only thing I have made for Ryder...

Love the fact you are lying to your husband over what the kids are listening to... my husband isn't impressed the boy prefers Robbie Williams over Morrissey in the car..

Quilt looks gorgeous.

That quilt looks very cool. I realise there are lots of nice 'girly' things to make, but cool things for boys are rare and I think more appreciated. Cool jackets, overalls, pants and shoes I think are the go. Also the freezer paper stencils are heaps of fun.

I too have been looking for some little boy inspiration. Creations so far include so loads of funky shorts from Ikea fabrics, a steady stream of hip button up shirts (aka WonderBoy) which look fantastic with white pants/shorts and jeans. Also great hat from this tutorial http://mushroomvillagers.wordpress.com/the-eddie-cap-tutorial/

No photos unfortunately as I'm a slacker with the camera.
